Kadhi is a yogurt based gravy which is a good combination for rice and khichdi. Here i have not used any vegetable. Some people will add onions or ladies finger to this. If you want you can try that also. Gujarati and punjabi kadhi is little sweeter. They add little sugar or jaggery.
Ingredients
1 cup Curd (yogurt)
1/4 cup Gram flour
1/4 cup Gram flour
3cup water
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder.
Salt As per taste
2 tbsp Oil.
1/2tsp mustard seeds
A pinch Asafoetida
1 tsp Fenugreek seeds.
3 no. Dry red chili whole
1/2tsp cumin seeds.
A pinch Asafoetida
1 tsp Fenugreek seeds.
3 no. Dry red chili whole
1/2tsp cumin seeds.
1/2tsp chopped ginger
4 curry leaves

1/4inch cinnamon
Method
Whisk Curd,gram flour, turmeric powder,salt thoroughly. Make sure that there are no lumps in it.
Add water and mix well.
Take a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds, chillies, cumin, ginger, curry leaves, cinnamon and cloves one by one without burning much.
Add this to the yogurt mixture and on slow heat stirring continuously.
Note: Stirring continuously is very important otherwise water and yogurt will separate.
