Pineapple rasam


Ingredients: 
Pineapple - 5 slices cut into 1inch pieces
Tomatoes chopped - 1/2 cup
Green chillies chopped - 2
Cumin powder -1 t.sp
Rasam Powder- 1 tsp 
Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves- as desired.
Lemon- 1/2
Salt-  To taste
Toor dal cooked - 1/2 cup
Water - 3cups
Oil - 2tsp
Mustard seeds  -1/2tsp

Method
Take a thick bottomed vessel  and add water , tomatoes, chillies,Rasam powder , cumin powder, salt and bring it to boil.  When it starts boiling add pineapple pieces and allow it to boil for 5 minutes. 
 Now add the cooked toor dal , mix well and when it starts to boil switch off the stove. 
 Do not allow it to boil for a long time.   
 Season mustard seeds and asafoetida and pour it in the rasam. 
 Garnish with coriander leaves. 
After half an hour add the lemon juice. 
Serve hot with rice.
Note : Lemon should not be added when rasam is boiling. It will give a bitter taste. So add lemon juice after half an hour.
