Coconut chutney goes well with pongal, idli, dosa , bajji , vada and all the tiffin varieties and very simple to prepare.
Ingredients
1 cup grated coconut
2 green chillies
1/2 cup roasted gram (pottu kadalai, Split Peas Dal, roasted gram, Dalia)
salt to taste
1 cup water
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp broken urad dal
2 tsp Oil
Method
Take the mixie container. Add grated coconut , green chillies, roasted gram , salt ,and water.
Grind well and transfer it to a serving bowl.
Heat oil in a pan on medium level till it is hot and add the mustard seeds. Let them splutter and then add the (urad dal) . Fry briefly till the gram turns red and pour it on the chutney. Now chutney is ready.
Note : You can also try adding coriander leaves to this. Tasty green chutney will be ready to eat.
