Ingredients
Rawrice - 1 cup
Jaggery -1 cup
Urad dal - 1Tsp
Coconut chopped -2 Tsp
Til - 1Tsp
Oil - For frying
Water
Preparation
Wash rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
Drain the rice and spread it in a towel.
Grind the rice in mixer nicely.
Sieve it with a siever.
Dry roast the urad dal till golden colour.
Grind urad dal and sieve.
Heat a pan, dry roast the rice powder till golden colour. Collect it in a plate.
Add jaggery to the pan and pour just enough water to cover jaggery. (Half cup) . Simmer the gas.
Add coconut.

Slowly add the rice powder,til and mix thoroughly without any lumps.
Allow this to cool.Now add urad dal powder and mix it well.
Make small marble sized balls.
Heat oil and fry this. Test with one seedai first.Then fry 5 to 6 at a time.
Vella seedai is ready.
