Butter unsalted 400 gms.
Castor sugar 400 gms.
Eggs 8 nos.
Refined flour 400 gms.
Cocoa powder 40 gms.
Baking powder 10 gms.
Method
1.Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.
2.Grease cake plate with butter and flour
3.Sieve together flour, cocoa powder and baking powder .
4.Beat butter and sugar in a bowl till fluffy.
5.Beat in the eggs two at a time .
6.Lightly fold the flour into the mixture.
7.Pour the batter into the greased cake plate and bake for 35 to 40 mins in the pre heated oven. Check by inserting a toothpick into the center, if it comes out clean the cake is done.
8.Transfer onto a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.
