Onion chutney


 Ingredients:
Onion: 1
Garlic
Urad dal: 1 tsp
Cumin seeds: ½ tsp
Red chillies (Whole): 2
Tomato  :1
Salt to taste
Tadka
Oil  - 1 Tsp
asafoetida-1/4 Tsp
mustard seeds-!/2Tsp
curry leaves - 4

Method:
Roast the urad dal, cumin seeds and red chillies till the urad turns light brown in colour. Collect it. Roast chopped onions, garlic and tomatoes.  Grind to make it to a paste.
Add the tadka of asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves to this chutney and mix it well. Serve it along with idli or dosa. The chutney can be refrigerated and can be used for two days.
